25 Feared Dead in Niger Boat Mishap
No fewer than 25 persons, including a family of 10, were feared dead in a boat accident in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Saturday as the victims were en route to the Zumba weekly market.
Eyewitnesses said the overloaded boat capsized mid-journey, with several passengers still missing as of press time.
Local authorities and rescue workers have launched a search operation. The Niger State Emergency Management Agency has yet to release an official statement.
Radio Nigeriaโs Kogi Station Robbed, Goes Off-Air
Radio Nigeriaโs Prime 101.5FM in Jimgbe, Kogi State, has gone off air after a robbery attack in the early hours of Saturday.
According to the General Manager, Momoh-Jimoh Adeiza, transmission equipment worth millions of naira was carted away by the robbers.
The incident was reported by Kogi Reports, a local publication.
