Zohran Mamdani holds more support than all other NYC mayoral candidates combined, with a commanding lead in a new five-way race poll.
Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani holds a commanding lead in the New York City mayoral race, securing over 50% support in a five-way field, according to a new poll by Zenith Research and Public Progress Solutions. The poll, conducted from July 16–24 among 1,453 city residents, shows Mamdani with 50%, more than the combined support for Andrew Cuomo (22%), Curtis Sliwa (13%), Eric Adams (7%), and Jim Walden (1%).
Mamdani’s support rises to 55% in a four-way race without Cuomo and to 51% without Adams. In a head-to-head matchup, Mamdani beats Cuomo 52% to 40%, and defeats Adams by a wider 59% to 32% margin.
“With a majority of voters saying they wouldn’t even consider voting for Cuomo, Adams’ net favorability being lower than Trump’s, and Sliwa mired in the low teens, it’s hard to see how anyone can put a serious scare into Mamdani,” said pollster Adam Carlson.
The general election is set for November 4, 2025.
