Peter Obi may lose the 2027 Labour Party ticket if he continues associating with ADC, warns factional LP Secretary Umar Farouk.

Factional National Secretary of the Labour Party, Umar Farouk, has warned that Peter Obi may lose his chance to become the party’s 2027 presidential candidate if he continues aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In an interview with Trust TV, Farouk stated the LP ticket is not reserved for anyone, emphasizing that Obi’s running mate in 2023, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, is equally qualified.

“If Datti is willing to aspire for presidency… we will open it. Come and buy the form, mobilise support and get elected,” he said.

He added, “You may be disqualified… there’s no way you’ll continue to romance with other political parties and then come back.”

Farouk’s remarks follow Baba-Ahmed’s recent 2027 interest declaration.
