A Nigerian man has allegedly murdered a pregnant nurse in Umueri village, Ogbunike Community, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. The incident occurred on 24 July, Premium Times gathered .
The suspect, identified as Chiemerie Obika Elobisi, reportedly invited the victim, Ngozi Ekebe, to his house under the pretext of treating his ailing mother. Instead, he allegedly collaborated with his girlfriend, Somtochukwu Nwafor, to kill her and dispose of her body in a soakaway pit.
Residents recounted that the suspect first claimed the nurse refused to come due to an unpaid debt, then denied she had visited at all. “He later said he didn’t say such… when we started searching for the nurse at about 10 p.m.… the guy ran away” .
Ekebe’s husband, Mr Ekebe, said his wife was seven months pregnant. He added that Nwafor confessed to selling body parts to native doctors, naming one Offodile as a recipient. “A fresh ear was seen in the suspect’s house during the search for my wife” .
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed Nwafor’s arrest on 25 July and that she admitted cleaning blood
