A 41-year-old Nigerian man, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years in prison by a UK court for sexually abusing a minor. The sentencing took place at Aylesbury Crown Court on July 29, following an investigation by Thames Valley Police. Nosakhare, a resident of Bletchley, was also ordered to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and is subject to a restraining order.
Nosakhare was found guilty of five counts of sexual activity with an underage girl after a trial earlier this year.

The offenses occurred after he met the victim’s mother through an online dating site. Detective Constable Bryn Smith of the Child Abuse Unit praised the victim’s courage, stating, “I want to commend the victim for her bravery throughout both the investigation and court proceedings.

I hope that Elvis Nosakhare’s conviction and sentence gives her some sense of justice.” The detective also encouraged anyone with information on sexual offenses to contact the police.
