INEC to Begin Nationwide Voter Registration August 18
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded plans to commence the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement posted Friday on its official X handle, the electoral body announced that online pre-registration would begin August 18, 2025, through the portal: cvr.inecnigeria.org.
The commission urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity to register early and update their voter details.
Benue Police Rescue Abducted Law School Students
The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of six abducted students from the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus.
Police spokesperson DSP Edet Udeme, in a statement on Friday in Makurdi, said the students were rescued in the early hours of the day.

Major-General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed this in an operational update Friday in Abuja.
