Presidential spokesperson, Sunday Dare, dismissed the allegations in a brief statement, following media reports that operatives of the EFCC and DSS forced Ojulari to resign.
The Presidency has refuted claims that Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), was coerced into signing a resignation letter.
Presidential spokesperson, Sunday Dare, dismissed the allegations in a brief statement to DAILY POST on Saturday night, following media reports that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) forced Ojulari to resign.
“Not true,” Dare said in response to the reports, which have sparked public speculation and criticism over alleged interference in the NNPCL leadership.
The clarification follows a June 27 statement from NNPCL warning of attempts to undermine the company’s new leadership structure.
Ojulari was appointed as GCEO of NNPCL by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on April 2, 2025, following the removal of Mele Kyari.
