NDLEA officers have seized cocaine and Tramadol hidden in car mirrors and lipsticks at Lagos airport, arresting multiple suspects. The operation spanned several states with large hauls recovered.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted cocaine and Tramadol hidden in vehicle side mirrors at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport, en route to Libreville, Gabon. The July 19 operation uncovered 57,420 Tramadol pills and 1.60 kg of cocaine pellets, leading to the arrest of cargo agent Ihekweme Osinachi Benedict. A follow-up arrest of Uzochukwu Godspower Chukwurah yielded another 1 kg of cocaine, bringing the total to 2.60 kg.

On August 1, NDLEA arrested businesswoman Nwafor Roseann Nneka after finding cocaine and phenacetine hidden in lipsticks bound for Equatorial Guinea.

In Abuja, three dispatch riders were arrested July 30 for delivering cannabis. More seizures followed in Lagos, Benue, Edo, Ogun, and Borno, including 100,000 Tramadol pills and 233.5 kg of skunk.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (rtd), commended officers and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to anti-drug efforts nationwide.
