El-Rufai’s son vows to ‘unalive’ X user who replied his mother’s post

Mr El-Rufai tweeted, “If you ever utter that phrase to my mother again… I am going to find you… & unalive you and your family.”

Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has drawn criticism after posting a threatening message on X (formerly Twitter) in defense of his mother, Hadiza Isma El-Rufai.

The now-deleted tweet followed backlash to Mrs El-Rufai’s comment on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s travel ban on Nigeria and three other African countries.

She had written, “A great percentage of these Nigerian Americans making us proud abroad are Igbos. There’s always two sides to every story.”

As reactions poured in, she doubled down: “No cyberbully can take away my right to express my opinion. Not everything is about politics, but that is something some of you will never understand.”

One user, @jussstice09, replied, “You no go die well ma.”

In response, Mr El-Rufai tweeted, “If you ever utter that phrase to my mother again… I am going to find you… & unalive you and your family.”

Peoples Gazette reported that he ignored requests for comment.

This incident adds to Mr El-Rufai’s history of incendiary remarks, including a March post threatening “increased bloodshed” in Southern Kaduna and mocking calls for justice for missing activist Abubakar Idris.
