A 35-year-old woman, identified as Aisha Mohammed (not her real name), has revealed the harrowing details of her three-month captivity in a Katsina forest where bandits killed her newborn twins and fed their remains to dogs.

“They said my babies cried too much… that their cries could attract soldiers,” she told SaharaReporters. “They killed them and… and gave them to dogs.”

Aisha was abducted on April 18, 2025, when armed men raided Dutsin-ma, killing her husband and others. In captivity, she gave birth unaided and endured starvation and sexual assault.

She claimed the bandits hoarded vast cash reserves and plotted major kidnappings targeting universities. “They stored N1000 notes in sacks like rice,” she said.

“They talked about attacking the Federal University in Dutsin-ma,” Aisha added, alleging plans to acquire anti-aircraft weapons.

She and five others escaped when the bandits fell asleep. Her account raises serious concerns over Nigeria’s security lapses, surveillance failure, and the unchecked spread of terror in the north
