FAAN says Fuji star Kwam 1 refused to comply with inflight rules, spilled alcohol on a staff member, and disrupted boarding on a ValueJet flight.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has accused Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam 1, of spilling alcohol on aviation personnel during boarding at the Abuja airport.

In a statement on Wednesday, FAAN confirmed the artist’s disorderly conduct on a ValueJet flight to Lagos on August 5. Kwam 1 allegedly ignored multiple warnings to declare the contents of his flask, later found to contain alcohol.

“As boarding continued, an airline security officer asked the passenger to step aside for further clarification. The passenger allegedly refused and spilled the contents of the flask on the officer,” FAAN said.

The incident led to the suspension of two pilots by the NCAA for failing to follow pre-departure clearance protocols.

FAAN noted that the musician resisted intervention from the flight captain and had to be escorted off the aircraft by security.

The authority warned that safety violations will be punished, saying the matter remains under investigation.
