“You have someone who was vice president for eight years, another who was Senate president, and a former governor — what did they achieve in office?” he asked. “These are old players in new packaging.”
ABUJA — President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Festus Osifo, has dismissed the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition as lacking credibility, branding its members “a bunch of jokers.”
Speaking on Channels Television’s TUC Half Hour on Wednesday, Osifo rejected the coalition’s chances ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that most of its key figures had failed Nigerians in the past.
“You have someone who was vice president for eight years, another who was Senate president, and a former governor — what did they achieve in office?” he asked. “These are old players in new packaging.”
Osifo urged Nigerians to focus on electoral reforms rather than recycled politicians. “We need reforms that guarantee one man, one vote. That’s the way forward,” he said.
The labour leader also expressed concern over economic hardship and called for tax reforms that don’t punish unemployed citizens.
