Dumebi Kachikwu alleges Jonathan offered Peter Obi a ministerial role to abandon his 2027 presidential ambition.
Former African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, has alleged that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan offered former Labour Party flagbearer, Mr Peter Obi, the position of Coordinating Minister of the Economy if he withdrew from the 2027 presidential race to support him.
Kachikwu told journalists in Abuja on Friday that northern political interests had drafted Jonathan into the race “to weaken the South.”
“In order to weaken the South, they have now drafted in former President Jonathan into the race who is alleged to be offering Peter Obi the position… for him to support his ambition,” he claimed.
He further accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and some northern elites of exploiting “region, religion, tongue, tribe and poverty” to maintain political dominance, adding that Obi had been told “he will never get northern votes as an Ibo man.”
Kachikwu urged Nigerians to resist politicians who do not believe in an equitable Nigeria.
