The decision, driven by the club’s Saudi owners, has reportedly left Isak furious.
Newcastle United have informed Alexander Isak he will not be sold this summer, rejecting Liverpool’s £110 million bid for the Swedish striker, according to the Telegraph.
The decision, driven by the club’s Saudi owners, has reportedly left Isak furious.
The 25-year-old has been pushing for a move throughout the transfer window and was previously training alone at former club Real Sociedad amid speculation.
Manager Eddie Howe confirmed on Friday that Isak is currently excluded from group training. “It’s clear at the moment that we can’t involve him with the group,” Howe said. “We would love the player to be with us… but I don’t see the current situation changing.”
Isak still has three years left on his contract, with Newcastle said to be exploring a new deal including a release clause for next summer.
Despite searching for a striker themselves, the Magpies remain firm that Isak is not for sale and hope to reintegrate him once tensions ease.
