Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have stormed the Green Legacy Hotel within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State, arresting several suspected internet fraudsters.

The raid, carried out in the early hours of Sunday during a pool party, caused panic as a viral video captured guests fleeing amid the sound of gunshots. Sources said more than 20 luxury cars and other valuables were seized.

The operation came just days after EFCC operatives in Ewekoro arrested 55 suspects, including one found with two locally-made pistols.

An X user, A. Ayomide, recounted leaving the venue shortly before the raid began. The Managing Director of OOPL Ventures, Vitalis Ortese, confirmed the incident but declined to give details.

EFCC’s Lagos spokesperson, Ayo Oyewole, and the commission’s national spokesman, Dele Oyewale, said they would confirm details of the operation.

Sources indicated the raid was conducted by EFCC’s Lagos Directorate.
