A Gloucester court has sentenced UK-based Nigerian Segun Ogundipe to five years in prison for rape and sexual assault.
A Gloucester Crown Court has sentenced 33-year-old Nigerian, Segun Ogundipe, to five years in prison for rape, sexual assault, and assault by penetration.
Ogundipe, of Tuffley Lane, Gloucester, was found guilty despite denying the charges. Gloucestershire Police said he met the victim at her workplace in 2022, invited her for drinks, and later took her to his home under false pretences, where he raped and assaulted her.
The victim said: “It is still crazy to me to think how your words and your actions have made me question my worth entirely… What you did was vile and one of the worst things you could do to someone.”
Police said he continued touching her during a subsequent drive to Cheltenham, stopping only when officers on patrol intervened.
Judge Lowe acknowledged positive character references but ruled the crimes warranted a custodial sentence. Ogundipe will be deported after serving his term. This follows a similar case involving Nigerian Elvis Nosakhare last week.
