Biodun Fatoyinbo clarifies that his recent comments on Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola were taken out of context, stressing he holds the CAC founder and his family in high esteem.

Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, has clarified that his recent remarks on the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, were misinterpreted.

The CAC, in a statement on Thursday, criticised Fatoyinbo’s comment in a viral sermon suggesting Babalola died poor and questioning the whereabouts of his children, describing the remarks as insensitive.

In a response posted on Instagram, Fatoyinbo expressed “love, admiration, and respect” for the CAC and lauded its leaders for addressing the matter. He described Babalola as a “distinguished father of faith” whose impact remains “the hallmark of most Christian organisations in Nigeria and beyond.”

He insisted he never spoke ill of the late Apostle’s children, noting they are “shining examples of generational impact.” Fatoyinbo added that COZA is “a place of honour” and that he would never take Babalola’s ministry, family, or legacy for granted.
