INEC Distributes Sensitive Materials for Saturday’s Bye-Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that all sensitive materials for Saturday’s bye-elections in 12 states have been distributed.

National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, said in a statement that all Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems have also been configured for the polls.


Inclusive Dialogue Restores Calm in Rivers — Administrator

The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, says non-partisan consultations and inclusive dialogue have restored calm and political stability to the state.

Ibas made the remark when he hosted the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on Emergency Rule Implementation, led by Prof. Julius Ihonvbere.


FG Targets 20m Youths with Jobs and Skills by 2030

The Federal Government has launched a national skills programme aimed at connecting 20 million Nigerian youths to jobs, training, and entrepreneurship opportunities by 2030.

Vice President Kashim Shettima announced the plan while assuming chairmanship of the reactivated Board of Generation Unlimited Nigeria during its inaugural meeting in Abuja.


Katsina Governor Takes Three-Week Medical Leave

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State will embark on a three-week medical leave from August 18, 2025.

A statement by Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Salisu Zango, said the leave was to address health concerns.


AON Lifts Lifetime Ban on Comfort Emmanson

The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has lifted the lifetime ban on Ms. Comfort Emmanson, earlier imposed for unruly behaviour on an Ibom Air flight.

The Federal Government says states and local governments have received a surplus of N7.1 trillion in addition to their statutory allocations under the current administration.

Finance Minister Wale Edun disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja.
