The future of Nigeria lies in the creative industry. We are here to give all our support to AFRIMA.

Nigeria’s Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to bolstering tourism through support for the creative industry, particularly the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), officials said on August 15, 2025.
At the “Patron’s Dinner with the Jury” event in Lagos, the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Industry, Hannatu Musawa, declared: “The future of Nigeria lies in the creative industry. We are here to give all our support to AFRIMA.”

Musawa emphasised that “Nigeria’s creative industry holds the key to our nation’s future, and AFRIMA is a vital part of that journey.” She reaffirmed the government’s pledge to engage stakeholders, stating: “We are available to work with everyone across all boards, and we will keep expanding our tentacles to ensure that we boost tourism in Nigeria.”

Mike Dada, President of AFRIMA, underscored the strategic role of music in promoting Africa’s creative economy globally, noting: “Music remains a powerful unifying force capable of bridging cultural divides across the continent while also positioning Africa competitively in the international market.” He added that AFRIMA’s mission transcends talent recognition to “shape perceptions, foster unity and unlock economic opportunities across borders.”

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the event drew numerous celebrities, and that AFRIMA 2025 is scheduled for Lagos from November 25 to November 30.
