“Members of Putin’s Federal Protection Service (FPS) are tasked with collecting his human waste, including his faeces, during his foreign trips.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s bodyguards reportedly collect and transport his faeces back to Russia during overseas trips, according to French publication Paris Match. The report emerges ahead of Putin’s scheduled meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska on Friday for Ukraine peace talks.

Investigative journalists Régis Genté and Mikhail Rubin claim Putin’s Federal Protection Service gathers his waste in special bags, stored in a secure briefcase, to prevent foreign intelligence agencies from analysing his health. They cited past instances, including his 2017 trip to France.

Former BBC journalist Farida Rustamova also reported that Putin travels with a portable toilet, noting the practice dates back to 1999. Speculation about the 72-year-old’s health has persisted, with observers pointing to unusual movements during public appearances.

Trump has said he hopes to arrange a follow-up meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stating: “I would like to do it almost immediately… if they’d like to have me there.”
