Modu Isa, 50, was rescued following a shocking suicide attempt in Bama, Borno State, after disputes with his former wife.
A 50-year-old man, Modu Isa, has been rescued after attempting to take his own life in Bama, Borno State. The incident occurred on Friday evening at Hausari Ward, according to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who shared the report on X.
Witnesses said Isa stabbed himself three times in the stomach before cutting off his penis with a knife. The act was allegedly prompted by his former wife, Bayanxe Modu of Konduga, who had refused to return to his house after three divorces.
“Police led a patrol team to the scene, recovered the knife as an exhibit, and evacuated the victim to General Hospital, Bama, where he is responding to treatment,” Makama said.
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Maiduguri, for further investigation.
