The conference, themed “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa,” runs from August 20–22 in Yokohama.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Japan for the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), scheduled for August 20–22 in Yokohama.
The President, who landed at Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport early Tuesday, was received by Ambassador Hideo Matsubara, Japan’s envoy in charge of TICAD, and Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.
TICAD9 will focus on driving Africa’s economic growth through private investment, innovation, and strong institutions. Tinubu is expected to attend plenary sessions, meet world leaders, and engage Japanese business leaders with interest in Nigeria.
At the end of TICAD9, Tinubu will travel to Brazil on August 24–25 for a state visit, where he will hold bilateral talks with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, participate in a business forum, and witness the signing of economic cooperation agreements.
