Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has gifted a new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to popular gospel singer and broadcaster, Yinka Ayefele, after a fire incident gutted his Music House in Ibadan last Friday.
Presenting the vehicle on Tuesday at the Ayefele Music House, the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, commended Ayefele’s resilience and immense contribution to the entertainment industry and media growth in Oyo State and Nigeria.
“You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians. On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you,” Ojo said.
Ayefele, who has been counting his losses following the inferno that destroyed property worth millions of naira, was visibly emotional as he received the SUV.
Makinde had earlier visited the site of the incident to commiserate with Ayefele and promised the government’s support.
