Former Ogun State governor and senator, Gbenga Daniel, has remained silent following his suspension by the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress over alleged anti-party activities.
Former Ogun State governor and senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, has kept mum after his suspension by the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party announced on Tuesday that Daniel and another member, Kunle Folarin, were suspended indefinitely over alleged anti-party activities. The APC Director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, said the decision followed recommendations from disciplinary committees in Sagamu Wards 4 and 6.
The committees alleged that both men ignored invitations to defend themselves and harassed party members during the probe.
Daniel, however, has not reacted publicly to the development, while his media aide, Steve Oliyide, did not respond to calls or messages. Governor Dapo Abiodun, the party leader in Ogun, has also remained silent.
The suspension comes amid heightened tension between Abiodun and Daniel, with Daniel’s camp accusing the governor of political vendetta and plotting to take over his senatorial seat in 2027.
