Russia bombs US factory in one of war’s largest attacks
Russia struck an American electronics manufacturer in western Ukraine during one of its largest aerial attacks of the war, Kyiv said.
The Ukrainian air force reported 574 drones and 40 missiles were launched overnight, targeting areas far from the front lines. The assault killed one person, injured 15, and hit a “major American electronics manufacturer” in Mukachevo, according to Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Video showed a large fire at Flex Ltd, a Texas-based company producing electronics such as laptops and car control units. President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, saying Russia “wasted several cruise missiles against an American business… Very telling.”
Poland scrambled jets to protect its airspace but reported no violations. The strike, Kyiv said, underscores Moscow’s lack of interest in peace talks despite recent diplomatic efforts involving Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
Ukraine also claimed it hit a Russian oil refinery and tested a long-range cruise missile with a 3,000km range.
