NAFDAC has raised the alarm over counterfeit Cowbell 12g sachet milk circulating in Nigeria, warning of serious health risks.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians to the circulation of counterfeit Cowbell “Our Milk” 12g sachet milk in the market.

According to a statement on its website, the agency said Promasidor Nigeria Ltd, manufacturer of Cowbell milk, confirmed that the fake product closely mimics the original brand in name, packaging design, and NAFDAC registration number.

“The MAH has confirmed that these products are neither manufactured nor distributed by them,” NAFDAC noted.

The agency warned that consuming the fake product poses “serious health and safety risks,” including exposure to harmful substances, foodborne illnesses, organ damage, or even death in severe cases.

Consumers were urged to buy only from authorised suppliers and report suspicious products to NAFDAC via 0800-162-3322 or sf.alert@nafdac.gov.ng.
