Arsenal stormed past Leeds United with a commanding 5-0 win at the Emirates, featuring a Gyökeres brace and a debut for 15-year-old Max Dowman.
Arsenal produced a ruthless display to dismantle Leeds United 5-0 at the Emirates on Saturday evening, with Viktor Gyökeres scoring his first two goals for the club and 15-year-old Max Dowman making his Premier League debut.
Jurriën Timber opened the scoring with a header from Declan Rice’s corner, before Bukayo Saka doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time. Gyökeres added a third early in the second half with a neat finish, and Timber grabbed his second from another corner to make it 4-0.
Dowman, introduced in the 64th minute, became the second-youngest player in Premier League history and won a late penalty that Gyökeres converted for his brace.
The only downside for Arsenal was injuries to Saka and captain Martin Ødegaard, a concern ahead of next weekend’s trip to Anfield.
The win leaves Arsenal unbeaten in their first two league games and brimming with confidence for the clash against Liverpool.
