A 50-year-old Lagos widow and fashion designer has been arrested by NDLEA for attempting to traffic cocaine concealed under a fake pregnancy.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 50-year-old widow and fashion designer, Mrs. Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike, for attempting to traffic 1.3 kilograms of cocaine using a fake pregnancy disguise.

Ezewuike, owner of Golden Star Creation in Okota, Lagos, was intercepted at a bus terminal in Jibowu, Yaba, on Friday, August 22, 2025, while heading to deliver the drugs to customers in Abuja.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said, “A follow-up operation at her Ago Palace Way residence led to the recovery of 200 grams of cutting agent used in processing cocaine.”

The suspect, a mother of one, claimed she inherited the trade from her late husband despite running a fashion business for over 20 years.

In related operations, NDLEA seized 48.6kg of cannabis concealed in kitchen sinks at a Lagos courier company and intercepted multiple opioid consignments in Adamawa, Kano, and other states.
