“I will end Islam in Texas, oh God, help me,” GOP candidate Valentina Gomez declares in a viral Quran-burning video.
Valentina Gomez, a Republican candidate for Texas’s 31st Congressional District in the 2026 elections, has come under heavy criticism after posting a video on X showing her burning the Quran.
In the footage, Gomez uses a fire gun to ignite the holy book while saying, “I will end Islam in Texas, oh God, help me. Muslims are committing murders to capture Christian countries.” She also urged viewers to support her campaign, adding, “Help me reach the parliament so that you never have to face the stones thrown by Muslims.”
The video has sparked widespread condemnation from political leaders, religious groups, and social media users, who labeled the act as hate speech and religious intolerance.
This incident follows a previous controversy in December 2024 when Gomez called for the public hanging of migrants during a provocative demonstration.
