The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed that former President Goodluck Jonathan remains a member and has not resigned. National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba stated this on Wednesday during Arise Television’s Morning Show amid speculation about the party’s 2027 presidential ticket.
“President Jonathan is still a member of this party because he has not resigned,” Ologunagba said.
He declined to comment on former Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, noting, “Mr. Obi has not indicated that he is joining the PDP.”
Ologunagba added that the PDP was confident in its “eminently qualified” members, citing Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde as an example of strong leadership the party could present in 2027.
