Police in the United Kingdom have confirmed the death of Liverpool bodybuilder Akinwale Arobieke, popularly known as Purple Aki, at the age of 64.

Arobieke was found unresponsive at his home on Devonshire Road in Toxteth, near Princes Park, around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, according to Merseyside Police. Officers said the death is being treated as non-suspicious, and a file has been submitted to the coroner for Liverpool and Wirral.

Arobieke, a controversial figure, gained notoriety for convictions related to harassing young men, often touching or measuring their muscles. In 2003, he was jailed for six years and later subjected to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which he partially overturned in 2016.

He also received compensation in 2022 after suing Greater Manchester Police for malicious prosecution.

Police stated, “The man’s death is not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
