Saudi Arabia has unveiled Humain Chat, an Arabic-language AI chatbot built on Allam 34B that embeds Islamic values and cultural nuance, as part of a broader tech-driven push under Vision 2030.
Saudi Arabia has launched Humain Chat, a domestically developed artificial intelligence chatbot tailored to adhere strictly to Islamic values, marking a bold move in the Kingdom’s multibillion-pound push into high-tech industries.
Developed by Humain—a firm backed by the sovereign wealth fund—the chatbot leverages the Allam 34B large language model and is designed to offer unmatched fluency in Arabic while aligning with Middle Eastern cultural norms. Unlike global models, which have faced criticism for controversial or insensitive outputs, Humain Chat includes built-in safeguards to comply with strict religious and social codes. The app initially serves users in Saudi Arabia, with plans to expand across the Middle East and internationally.
This launch aligns with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 agenda, aimed at diversifying the economy and transforming the Kingdom into a regional technology hub.
Despite rapid modernization and investments in AI, gaming, sports, and urban megaprojects, the nation continues to face international criticism over political repression and conservative backlash against social reforms.
