Vice President JD Vance said Trump is in “incredibly good health” but affirmed he is ready to lead if tragedy strikes.

Vice President JD Vance has assured Americans that President Donald Trump remains in “incredibly good health,” while acknowledging his own readiness to assume leadership if necessary.

Speaking in an interview with USA Today published Friday, Vance described Trump, who turned 79 in June, as energetic and tireless. “He’s got incredible energy. He’s the last person making phone calls at night, and the first person making phone calls in the morning,” he said.

Asked whether he was prepared to step in as commander-in-chief, Vance replied: “Yes, things can always happen. Yes, terrible tragedies happen. But I feel very confident the president… is going to serve out the remainder of his term.”

He added that his first 200 days as vice president provided “on-the-job training.”

Concerns about Trump’s health surfaced last month after photos showed bruising on his hand and swelling in his legs.

His physician, Sean Barbabella, attributed the symptoms to “chronic venous insufficiency” and aspirin use.
