The family of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola has dismissed claims that her 24-year-old son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle, died in a bathroom accident.
Ayomikun, son of Ogunmola and comedian Sunday Omobolanle, popularly called Aluwe, died on September 2 in Ibadan. Reports alleging his death was linked to a fall in the bathroom have been described as “false and disrespectful.”
In a statement signed by Yemi Amodu, the family said:
“We wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports being circulated online. He was briefly unwell and… peacefully answered the call of his Creator.”
The family urged the public to stop spreading unverified reports, adding that Ayomikun had been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home, Ibadan.
“These misleading stories not only dishonour his memory but also bring unnecessary pain to his loved ones,” the statement added.
