A Katsina student led a seven-day prayer session urging Vice President Shettima’s retention as President Tinubu’s running mate in 2027.
An 18-year-old student of Al-Qalam University, Katsina, has led a seven-day prayer session for Vice President Kashim Shettima’s retention as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the 2027 election.
The student, Mohammed Yakubu, a 200-level political science undergraduate, organized the event at Maranta Sheikh Abba Abu, Kofar Kwaya, Katsina. Featuring mostly young clerics, the prayers ended on Friday. Yakubu said his action was motivated by Shettima’s leadership and loyalty to Tinubu.
“Shettima has been my role model and seeing how he has helped His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu in running the affairs of our great country, they all deserve our prayers,” Yakubu said.
He urged Nigerian youths to support leaders through prayers rather than criticism, adding that Shettima’s support for young Nigerians and farmers inspired him. Yakubu further called on governments to intensify efforts against insecurity.
