Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke has appointed street puff-puff seller Oluwatosin Adejumo as a Government House chef, also offering her a scholarship opportunity.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has appointed Oluwatosin Adejumo, a street puff-puff seller, as a chef at the state Government House.

The governor announced the appointment in a post on his official X account on Friday, describing Adejumo as “the puff-puff seller turned Government House chef.”

Adeleke explained that he made the promise during a rally in Osogbo where organised labour in the state endorsed his administration and declared support for his re-election bid.

“A few days ago, I met Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo… during the rally,” Adeleke wrote. “Today, I fulfilled my promise by officially presenting her appointment letter as one of our Government House chefs. Beyond her employment, I have also offered her a scholarship up to the Master’s level, should she choose to further her education.”

Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and has catering skills, caught Adeleke’s attention when he purchased all her puff-puff for N50,000 during the rally.

The governor said her story was “a powerful reminder that hard work and dedication never go unnoticed,” pledging that his administration would continue to recognize and uplift excellence wherever found.
