Drop Site News reports Israel paid Google $45m to run ads downplaying Gaza starvation during its blockade, which has left over 367 people dead, including 131 children.

Israel allegedly paid Google $45 million to run a propaganda campaign aimed at denying reports of starvation in Gaza, according to an investigation by Drop Site News.

The report said discussions on the PR strategy began on March 2, 2025, shortly after Israel halted all food, medicine, and fuel supplies to the enclave. Knesset members reportedly expressed concern over Israel’s global image rather than the humanitarian crisis.

The contract, signed in June, funded a six-month campaign, including YouTube ads showing Palestinians eating meals with the caption: “There is food in Gaza. Any other claim is a lie.”

This came as the UN declared famine in Gaza City. At least 367 people, including 131 children, have died of hunger since the siege began.

Israel also paid $3 million for ads on X and brought U.S. influencers to Gaza to support its narrative, while restricting journalists and continuing airstrikes on civilians.
