Pastors and religious figures are predicting that the Biblical event known as the Rapture will occur on September 23, 2025, coinciding with the Jewish Feast of Trumpets. The claim, shared widely on social media, suggests that Christians will be taken from Earth as Jesus returns, leaving others to face tribulation.
South African preacher Pastor Joshua Mhlakela said in a YouTube video that Jesus told him directly: “The rapture is upon us, whether you are ready or not… I am coming soon.” He added that Christ revealed the date as September 23 and 24.
Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn echoed the link between the Rapture and the Feast of Trumpets, telling his 1.3 million followers: “Do I believe that there may be these major [events] like the rapture…? Yes. Because that all goes together.”
However, critics warn against setting dates. Citing Matthew 24:36, Andrew Morse of Grace Church said: “If you’re wrong, it ruins credibility, and damages people’s faith.”
