Forest are set to appoint Ange Postecoglou as manager following Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking.
Ange Postecoglou is poised to become Nottingham Forest’s next manager following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday night. Forest are understood to have opened talks with the 60-year-old Australian, who is seen as the leading candidate to take charge before Saturday’s trip to Arsenal.
Nuno’s 21-month spell ended after a 3-0 defeat to West Ham before the international break. The Portuguese coach, who took over in December 2023, guided Forest to a seventh-place finish last season – their best since 1994-95 – and secured European football for the first time in three decades.
Postecoglou, sacked by Tottenham at the end of last season despite delivering a historic Europa League triumph, is admired for his attacking approach. Spurs described him as having delivered “one of the club’s greatest moments” after securing their first European trophy in 17 years.
If appointed, Postecoglou would become Forest’s eighth permanent manager since Evangelos Marinakis assumed ownership in 2017.
