Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University, officials confirmed.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot during a Wednesday event at Utah Valley University in Orem and has been confirmed dead at age 31, according to multiple officials cited by Just the News. The university confirmed a suspect is in custody, campuses remain closed, and classes are canceled.

An emergency alert warned: “A single shot was fired on campus toward a visiting speaker. Police are investigating now, suspect in custody,” while an earlier statement noted, “We do know there was a shot fired from the top of the Losee Center,” without confirming apprehension.

Graphic video footage circulated showing Kirk speaking under a tent before being “blown off his stool.” He has been described as “one of the most influential voices on the right in recent years,” having founded Turning Point USA chapters nationwide and hosted speakers’ summits for young conservatives.
