FBI agents say the shooter used a bolt-action rifle recovered near the scene. Officials believe the suspect is college-aged but are withholding video evidence for now.
Federal investigators say the weapon used in the shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University has been recovered.
“That rifle was recovered in a wooded area where the shooter had fled,” Robert Bohls, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Salt Lake City office, said Wednesday.
Officials believe the suspect is college-aged and confirmed they have clear video evidence but will not release it yet. Mason, another official, said they are using advanced technology to identify the shooter. “We are confident in our abilities right now,” he said, stressing safety and proper procedure in the investigation.
