Investigators probing the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk have recovered a rifle and ammunition engraved with transgender and antifascist expressions, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The 0.30 caliber hunting rifle was discovered wrapped in a towel in woods near Utah Valley University, where Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck on Wednesday during a student event.
Spent cartridges were still in the chamber, alongside three unspent rounds marked with ideological slogans, the paper said, citing an internal law enforcement bulletin.
Authorities said the suspected shooter, believed to have fired from a rooftop sniper’s nest, remains at large.
