Immigrants who mock Kirk’s death may face visa action – Trump Admin

The Trump administration warned that immigrants mocking Charlie Kirk’s killing may face visa consequences.

The Trump administration signaled Thursday it may review the legal status of immigrants who “make light” of the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau wrote on X that “foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome in the country.” He said he has directed consular officials to take “appropriate action” and encouraged Americans to report comments by foreigners mocking Kirk’s death.

“I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event,” Landau stated, adding that the State Department would act to “protect the American people.”

Kirk, 31, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University. He is survived by a wife and two children. The suspect remains at large, with the FBI releasing a photo to aid the search.

The administration issued similar warnings earlier this year regarding immigrants at pro-Palestinian protests.
