A New Jersey nurse is suing Englewood Health, alleging she was suspended after exposing a surgeon who “cheered” Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
A New Jersey nurse has filed a lawsuit claiming she was suspended without pay after calling out a hospital surgeon who allegedly celebrated the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
Lexi Kuenzle, 33, a nurse at Englewood Health, said bariatric surgeon Dr. Matthew Jung remarked, “I hate Charlie Kirk. He had it coming. He deserved it,” after news of Kirk’s death broke. Kuenzle responded, “You’re a doctor. How could you say someone deserved to die?”
According to the lawsuit filed Friday in Bergen County Superior Court, Kuenzle reported the incident to management and later posted about it on Instagram. She said she was pulled into a meeting the next day, suspended without pay, and advised to look for another job.
“It was mind-blowing to me,” she told the New York Post. Jung has not been disciplined, though he allegedly offered to “buy lunch” for staff after his comments. Kuenzle is seeking damages.
