Anambra First Lady Nonye Soludo has threatened legal action against APC deputy governorship candidate Uche Ekwunife, demanding a retraction and apology within 72 hours over allegations of infidelity and questioning of her children’s paternity.

Anambra State First Lady, Nonye Soludo, has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Uche Ekwunife, demanding a public apology and withdrawal of allegations of infidelity.

In a statement on Saturday, Mrs Soludo described Ekwunife’s remarks as “wilful and malicious,” warning that her lawyers were “on notice” for possible legal action. The dispute arose after a viral video in which Ekwunife alleged that Mrs Soludo had an affair with late former governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju and questioned the paternity of her children.

“I will still as a Christian give Uche a chance to repent and ensure restitution by recanting her wilful and malicious allegations within 72 hours and tendering an unreserved apology,” Mrs Soludo said. “Take note Uche that if you fail to do so, I will take every step necessary to ensure justice and restitution.”

Rejecting the claims, she declared, “In my 55 years on planet earth, I have known only one man, Chukwuma Soludo. I married him as a virgin and my fidelity to him in 33 years of marriage and for life is ironclad.”

Mrs Soludo challenged Ekwunife to swear an oath of fidelity before the Catholic Church’s Blessed Sacrament and proposed DNA tests for both families in three London hospitals, pledging to cover all expenses.

The confrontation comes less than two months before the 8 November Anambra governorship election, where Ekwunife is contesting as APC deputy candidate.
