Ukraine is relocating part of its defense industry to Denmark under a $50 million initiative, protecting arms production from Russian strikes while boosting NATO cooperation.

Ukraine has started moving part of its weapons production into Denmark to safeguard its defense industry from Russian missile strikes and foster cooperation with European partners. Denmark’s industry and finance ministry confirmed that Ukrainian defense company Fire Point will manufacture rocket fuel in the country as the first step of a broader initiative.

The program, called Build for Ukraine, has been allocated more than $50 million to help Ukrainian defense firms set up operations in Denmark. Officials said the plan “creates new opportunities for cooperation with Danish and European companies” while ensuring production is not disrupted by Russian attacks.

Troels Lund Poulsen, Denmark’s defense minister, emphasized that the move means “production cannot be stopped by Russian attacks.” Ukrainian companies working at home often split manufacturing across multiple hidden sites to avoid creating large targets for missiles.

For Denmark, the collaboration also strengthens its own defense industry, offering access to Ukraine’s wartime innovations and rapid manufacturing expertise.
