Sowore has fiercely criticized FCT Minister Wike, calling for his trial at the ICC, while also battling DSS over alleged censorship amid reports of Wike’s health challenges.

Human rights activist and #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, has lashed out at Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike over remarks suggesting that his frequent criticism of President Bola Tinubu could have dire consequences under another leader. Wike had said Sowore was “lucky” Tinubu is tolerant, a statement that drew sharp backlash.

Responding via X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Sowore accused Wike of corruption and rights abuses. “I heard that the FCT’s drunkard–murderer–landgrabber–thief Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, said Bola Ahmed Tinubu should have assassinated me for calling him #TinubuisAcriminal,” he wrote, adding, “Wike stole land in Abuja, Wike robbed the people of Rivers state, and Wike massacred Igbos at Obigbo… Wike should be in the Hague at the International Criminal Court.”

The row comes as the Department of State Services (DSS) intensifies scrutiny of Sowore’s social media posts. The activist has filed suit challenging the agency’s actions, arguing that attempts to delete his posts infringe on constitutional rights.

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters reported that Wike recently travelled to the UK for medical care over congestive heart failure. Despite doctors recommending bypass surgery, he allegedly declined for fear of losing his position during absence. This has revived debate over his earlier stance against foreign medical treatment for public officials.
