Lere Olayinka, aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, accused activist Omoyele Sowore of hypocrisy for calling President Bola Tinubu a criminal while retaining absolute control of the African Action Congress.
Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Friday accused African Action Congress (AAC) leader Omoyele Sowore of hypocrisy for branding President Bola Tinubu a criminal.
Reacting to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s listing of Sowore as AAC’s national chairman, Olayinka mocked the former presidential candidate in a social media post. “People shouting Democracy up and down. He is the Party Chairman. He is the Presidential Candidate. He is everything – Dictator in Millitocracy,” he wrote.
Olayinka alleged that Sowore has monopolized the AAC since its 2018 founding, saying: “The same Sowore has been the Chairman of AAC since 2018. He trusts no one apart from himself.” He added that Sowore “wants to be President, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker and Chief Justice of Nigeria” despite securing only 14,603 votes in the 2023 election.
He concluded that Sowore “preach[es] what they can’t practice,” criticizing others for actions he himself embodies.
