Kwankwaso says NNPP will only merge with APC if clear gains are secured, warning against political betrayal.

NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said his party will only consider merging with the All Progressives Congress (APC) if concrete benefits are guaranteed.

Speaking at his Miller Road residence in Kano, where he received Buhari Bakwana, former political adviser to ex-Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, and APC members from Kano’s 44 local councils, Kwankwaso recalled his role in the formation of the APC in 2013.

“Nobody in the country will tell me the burden we took in creating APC. We were the ones who led the creation of the party, and we were the first set of seven governors to declare support for it,” he said.

Kwankwaso accused both APC and PDP of betrayal in past alliances, noting that eight years under Muhammadu Buhari yielded “nothing.” He added: “We are ready to join APC under strong conditions and promises. We will not allow anyone to use us and later dump us.”
