Prince Harry and King Charles appear to be moving toward reconciliation after a private meeting, raising expectations of their first joint public appearance in six years.
Prince Harry and King Charles may soon make their first public appearance together in six years, following a private meeting in London that signals progress toward reconciliation.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the Duke of Sussex met the King at Clarence House last week during a trip to the UK. The 50-minute tea marked their first face-to-face encounter since February 2024. Harry later described the meeting as a step toward healing, echoing his earlier BBC remark: “I would love a reconciliation with my family.”
The last time the pair were seen together at an official event was in April 2019, at the Our Planet premiere in London. Since then, they have only been pictured together at the funerals of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth.
Harry, who lives in California with Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, stressed he is happy in Montecito but wants to spend more time with his father, who is undergoing cancer treatment.
The Duke, who stood by his memoir Spare, has reportedly agreed to avoid public activity that might overshadow President Donald Trump’s upcoming UK visit.
